SEPA is an association of amateur and professional painters who paint together regularly outdoors in S.E. Ireland. All artists are welcome. SEPA organises Ireland's 'Art in the Open' plein air festival. SEPA membership is free. NB. As with all Paint-Outs posted on Plein Eire, these events are simply notifications of intent by one individual to be at a particular place and time to paint. Each member's participation is entirely at his/her own risk. No responsibility for harm or loss of person or property on the part of anyone else is intended or implied.

Here are a few ideas for paint-out venues. Please add your own suggestions and we'll get a schedule together for the coming weeks. Your addfitional recommendations welcome.

Ballinkeele House

Newtownbarry House & Gardens

Dunamore Wood (Borodale) (no facilities)

Rosslare Harbour Lagoon

Tinahely

Wexford Beaches

Wexford Gardens

The Still Pond, near Enniscorthy

As ever, it is weather permitting, so in case the organiser needs to cancel, please indicate by RSVP for each event so a single message will let everyone know if an event is 'On' or 'Off'.

In particular, it seems smaller villages where we have access to coffee and a bite and a chance to say'hello' are sought-after venues. Here are some suggestions:

Weather looks good for Sunday

Killinick sounds good to me, is that on for Sunday? Ballycross another day maybe.

We should definitly go to Killinick. How many times do you think you will get to crow over South Africa! Kimonos being compulsory gear

As Clint is South African, please consider his feelings and don't mention Japan!

I missed it too, so it would be an option, even for the morning as Tony suggested

In case anyone hasn't been there recently, the layout at Ballycross has changed. The yard area and the animals are now closed off, so can only be viewed, when entry fee is paid. The entry fee is only €3-50 (per adult/not per car). so not really an issue for a full day there. I'm not sure though whether people are allowed wander around the farm or are confined to the immediate area. I'd be happy to go to Killinick since I missed it last time.

Would anyone interested in hanging their painting at Karoo please let me know. It would be handy to have an idea of size, too and any questions you may have about the event. For the theme of this first exhibition, it is only paintings of the local area which are required. Thanks.

Don't let this necessarily influence your choice of venue for Suinday, but Clint, owner of Karoo Farm Shop in Killinick where we painted a few weeks ago, has very kindly issued an invitation to our members. He would like us to hang some of the paintings of the village which we made during our visit to form the basis of a little exhibition of local scenes in the cafe during Wexford Opera Festival. He would even like to offer a little 'coffee and bites' opening at a time to be announced, which I'm sure, would be fun for everyone.

Of those who would like to participate, some may already have a completed piece or two, while others might like a second attempt to finish one off (or perhaps do a better one). It may be fun to do but chances of actually making a sale may not be significant and it need not influence where you choose to paint this weekend. I am just putting it out there so everyone can decide. You could even do the morning in Killinick and the afternoon at Ballycross?

If you want to hang at Karoo, your painting(s) should be readily 'hangable' and have the title, size, price and your contact details on the back and you can leave them at Karoo or at Spectrum Art & Framing to be dropped off all together.
