SEPA is an association of amateur and professional painters who paint together regularly outdoors in S.E. Ireland. All artists are welcome. SEPA organises Ireland's 'Art in the Open' plein air festival. SEPA membership is free. NB. As with all Paint-Outs posted on Plein Eire, these events are simply notifications of intent by one individual to be at a particular place and time to paint. Each member's participation is entirely at his/her own risk. No responsibility for harm or loss of person or property on the part of anyone else is intended or implied.

For photos of SEPA's previous paint outs, click on this link: SEPA photos

Here are a few ideas for paint-out venues. Please add your own suggestions and we'll get a schedule together for the coming weeks. Your addfitional recommendations welcome.

Ballinkeele House

Newtownbarry House & Gardens

Dunamore Wood (Borodale) (no facilities)

Rosslare Harbour Lagoon

Tinahely

Wexford Beaches

Wexford Gardens

The Still Pond, near Enniscorthy

As ever, it is weather permitting, so in case the organiser needs to cancel, please indicate by RSVP for each event so a single message will let everyone know if an event is 'On' or 'Off'.

In particular, it seems smaller villages where we have access to coffee and a bite and a chance to say'hello' are sought-after venues. Here are some suggestions:

Thank you all for today especially Tony for the 'masterclass'.  Great company and encouragement from you 'oldtimers!'

I saw that, too, Terry and for some reason best known to the Eigse people they have decided to call their paint-out 'Art in the Open', as well.

While it is no harm that Eigse have decided to include a plein air event in their programme this year, this has no connection to Ireland's international plein air festival, 'Art in the Open' taking place for the 4th successive year in Wexford in late July / early August.

Perhaps our Clonegal paint-out on Saturday should be renamed 'Eigse Carlow' instead - but that would be equally daft.

For your information, hot from the post this morning, Eigse (Carlow Arts Festival) are advertising "Carlow's first ever Plein Air event" on Sunday 12th June from 12 -3 "participating artists can avail of discounted food at the Pompei restaurent if registered in advance at info@eigsecarlow.ie"

12-3 with lunch in between.  Seems a bit stressful.........
