What does an Artist gain from working " En Plein Air", that working in a studio doesn't achieve? I asked this question before painting outdoors, and after time, began to realize the wealth of information I had been turning my back on. I have a wide interest in Art and work in various media, materials, and methods. Plein Air , for me, has become a "touchstone" and a discipline - a connection with our "present", and helps to remind me of the beauty and inspiration to be found in our immediate surroundings.Painting Plein Air, I try to act as a "conduit" to the viewer, attempting to evoke the sense of curiosity and emotional response,which first caused me to stop - and look again...

It was great to see a few new faces today, at our paintout in Borodale along with Barry, Phil, Lynn, Ray, Laura, Denise, Micheal, Anne, Tony, Phil, Paul,Bernadette, Zane, and myself.
Many thanks to Bernadette Doolin, who gave us directions, and "fueling station", along with some local knowledge for future visits.

OK. We'll see if anyone else has an idea. I thought we were going to Hook but if the gang ain't going I won't go that far. I have been out during the week painting Ferrycarrig jetty and castle. I may just go back there if nothing definite is posted. And the hotel is handy for a bit of lunch...
