I just thought I'd share a couple of links to artist Bill Wray's website and blog. Bill used to do a lot of plein air work, putting life and limb in danger in some seriously dangerous parts of Los…Read on...

I know that many of us have difficulty photographing our paintings. Since most of us prefer to spend our time painting rather than learning about photography, it would be great if we all shared our…Read on...

Jack O'Loughlin commented on Michael McGuire's photoI have an exhibition running at the moment in the Cedars Hotel, Rosslare Strand (continues until 29th September), and to draw attention to it, I've decided to paint occasionally in the hotel lobby. I did my first session last Wednesday afternoon and got this far after about three hours or so (the painting is 20" x 24" oil on canvas - I'm using a small plein air study as a reference - the scene is near the Blasket Interpretive Centre in West Kerry):-…

I just completed this studio painting, based on a plein air I did in 2010. One of my favourite places to paint, this spot is on the coast road between Fethard and Hook Head.

I'm a huge motorsport fan and get my daily fix from this blog. For those of you who may not be aware of another aspect of Rob's art, here's the link:-

Hi Michael I had a great day at the Wild Fowl Santuary. Thanks for making me so welcome. Hope the sunny south east supplies us with some more good sunny days.
Carol Robb said… Hi Michael... It wasn't me who mentioned it, but Tullow does have a riverside walk. If it helps, I can go and do a recce re access and parking as I don't live far from there. Unfortunately I won't be able to join you all for this Sunday, or next, as my one and only nephew is coming over to visit us, so fingers crossed for the one after.
Carol Robb said… Hi Michael,
Many thanks for making me so welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed our paint out at Johnstown Castle but was unfortunately unable to go to Curracloe due to a tummy bug. I'm looking forward to meeting you all again at the next paint out.
John Mc Manus said… Hi Michale,
Yes Michael, it's the same me! Left EI since the end of 2009 though and self-employed now. Looking forward to participating in the paint-outs at the end of the month and catching up with you again.
Best,
John
