Latest Activity: on Thursday

SEPA is an association of amateur and professional painters who paint together regularly outdoors in S.E. Ireland. All artists are welcome. SEPA organises Ireland's 'Art in the Open' plein air festival. SEPA membership is free. NB. As with all Paint-Outs posted on Plein Eire, these events are simply notifications of intent by one individual to be at a particular place and time to paint. Each member's participation is entirely at his/her own risk. No responsibility for harm or loss of person or property on the part of anyone else is intended or implied.

For photos of SEPA's previous paint outs, click on this link: SEPA photos

Here are a few ideas for paint-out venues. Please add your own suggestions and we'll get a schedule together for the coming weeks. Your addfitional recommendations welcome.

Ballinkeele House

Newtownbarry House & Gardens

Dunamore Wood (Borodale) (no facilities)

Rosslare Harbour Lagoon

Tinahely

Wexford Beaches

Wexford Gardens

The Still Pond, near Enniscorthy

As ever, it is weather permitting, so in case the organiser needs to cancel, please indicate by RSVP for each event so a single message will let everyone know if an event is 'On' or 'Off'.

In particular, it seems smaller villages where we have access to coffee and a bite and a chance to say'hello' are sought-after venues. Here are some suggestions:

Paintout Ballymore SCHOOLHOUSE 4/6/23 With the fab weather continuing I’m posting early again- this is a NEW venue Ballymore Schoolhouse & Gardens:  Japanese inspired gardens set over 2 acres on the side of Carrig Rua, Ballymore in North Wexford. The Schoolhouse dates to 1830s. Y21 K8X7. They’re happy for us to come at 11 for coffees and make a donation to the Hope charity as the open days are fundraising for them.  Check out their Instagram for more pics.

Rain expected to arrive at 1pm so an early start might be the thing.  I think I might have coffee after, to make the best of the day.

The weather looks to be in our favour once more this weekend and Kilmokea country manor is a lovely location. Coffee in the conservatory from 11 followed by a leisurely stroll in the gardens to pick a spot….

Paintout Johnstown castle Sunday april 30th.
Hi all the weather isn’t looking great currently but there are sheltered spots to be had at Johnstown and the cafe is great if you get rained out entirely.

FINAL 2022 PAINTOUT  JOHNSTOWN CASTLE SUNDAY NOV 13th Hi all, so far this weekend looks decent and this will be the last Paintout I post this year (though of course anyone else can) I know a few members will be exhibiting at Artsource which I hope to get to on Saturday so best of luck for it. There’s plenty of shelter and a great cafe at Johnstown so even if you’re not going to paint feel free to come for a cuppa and catch up Meet in the cafe at 11, see you there
