Hi all! A woman I know from painting classes I take at a local art school is planning a trip to Ireland in September. It will be herself and her husband. She paints (really wonderfully!), and I…Read on...

Hello. I have a question for those of you in the know about Wexford. I am looking at a place to stay while there, and found a hostel, Kirwan House. Now, I am not of the age of backpackers, and…Read on...

What are the dates for the 2011 Art in the Open festival? I seem to remember that some things went on before, or after it. What would be a good time to arrive? Thank you!

I am thinking of different ways to do my trip to Ireland next summer, for Art in the Open. I am thinking that perhaps I would fly into Shannon first, and would like to go out to Innisheer/Inis Oirr…Read on...

Hope everyone has fun this year at AITO. I loved being there a couple years ago, and treasure my memories of the event and the people.

These three paintings are in a show that I just hung. The dog, and the aerial painting are 4 ft x 3 ft, and the other one is 5 ft x 4 ft. The photos did not come out very well. I hope to take some pictures at the opening. I have another show in January also, so I am busy in the studio. …

Hope you can make it, Elaine. If there's anything I can do to help, just say.
Hello Elaine, I am glad that you enjoyed my painting of Baker park in Frederick MD. It was a glorious Spring day and the colors were just jumping off the canvas. I enjoyed looking at your work too. Love the pastel technique

A bird just flew in to tell us of your exhibition 'A Different Perspective'.
Congratulations, Elaine. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year from your Irish painting compadres and best of luck with the show.
Thank you! We all went out to Laytown, Co. Meath to paint plein eire style. Everyone else concentrated on the river banks etc., but I thought the structure of these would be a challenge. They are the seed heads of the summer thistle (I don't know the proper name for them). In summer they have purple tops on them. You don't see too many of them in Ireland, they are more common in England, so when I saw them I jumped at chance to paint them!
Oh ....take some photo's . You could put your group on the site here too, and keep us posted on your adventures :)
Weather is starting to change here now, with the chill of winter in the air. It's a beautiful time of year though...
