Hiding in the meadows

oil on board, 8 x 10. This old barn is in St.Catherine's Park near the Leixlip end - we used to live in the housing estate beside this called Glendale Meadows and our two boys played here. This used to be full of poppies but the parks dept started to mow it until this year and now they are developing new wild areas so it is now covered in all sorts of lovely weeds - but no poppies. Took out the esb pole, put it back in but not sure and need to clean up the sky area still. A beautiful hot afternoon before the storms of today

Comment by Norah Blount on June 9, 2012 at 19:55: thank you all, yes Elaine - this is a little hidden gem between Lucan and Leixlip called St.Catherine's Park and I will gladly take any of you there to paint - the liffey, wildflowers and a few old buildings but it is even more beautiful in the winter !
