A great night last night Friday 13th July, at Paul and Tony's Opening night.....

A small no. of us were given the unexpected opportunity to paint at The First Heritage Park Festival, Ferrycarrig, Co. Wexford, last Saturday.

It was such a pity the weather was cold, however the trip was worth it, to take time to have a look at Passage East, as usually, I…

With 2011 drawing to a close, and less sunlight in the day, we stayed close to home for this paintout. It was great to take some time to explore this area, as there has always been  a bit of confusion (even with Wexfordians) between these locations. Katts Strand, Riverbank,and the working pier.

Surprisingly mild today, we met up in the car park for a wake up cup of  coffee, and set off to paint. We started to feel the cold by lunchtime, but got back to business in the…

John Cullinan, Statia,  Margaret, Sunomi, Liz, Aurthur,Terrence, Geraldine, Karina, Kevin , Sandra and myself..made a very strong turnout of 13 today in Waterford. We had a great welcome from the Waterford crew, who hosted an excellent days painting.

The city was steeped in  cool Autumnal sunshine, which gave light to plenty of sites to paint! It got quite cold…

 Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow proved to be a wonderful paint out location today. Though the weather Gods were not in our favor, we had plenty to see, that will whet our appetites for a return…

Thanks to Jazz,  Aoife  and all the staff at Ferns Castle today, who were so helpful to us. We were able to peruse the Ferns Tapestry in the visitor center, and take part in an excellent tour of the castle, which houses some wonderful original 8oo yr old Norman architecture.

It was a "tale of two days", today, for our paint out in Courtown Harbour. The morning looked a little threatening, and, sure enough, by lunchtime we were racing for cover as the heavens opened!!The afternoon however saw some brightness on the horizon, and the sun came out to warm us!

This was only my second time in Courtown, and I think there is plenty of…

It was great to see "the Gang" rested and in good spirits after the festival. Ballyhack…

Well??...what's the mystery????

I believe a few nerves were present this morning, and some very tense body language, as SEPA gathered for our pre- festival "Mystery Paintout". There was nothing to be worried about really, we didn't have plein air bungy jump painting..or plein air while water skiing (we'll keep that for next year ;) )

What a change in weather a day brings! From yesterday's highs of about 23 degrees, our day today started out very chilly indeed!! Poor Geraldine had made the trip from Co. Wicklow yesterday in great weather, to be confronted this morning with a blast of c-c-c-cold air!

We had a wonderful day.After a slow start this morning, the weather picked up nicely to provide us with ideal conditions.The Park provided some wonderful painting opportunities. great views, old farmsteads, lake, woodlands etc...the food from the park restaurant was really good…

 

Thanks to Kevin Lewis for pointing us towards Kells today, and directing us to some great venues. Kells was a gem, which I'm ashamed to say, I  had never been to. The Priory was a huge mass of ancient ruins, in a wonderful setting. We had the choice to paint…
