SEPA Paint out - Altamont Gardens Co. Carlow 16/10/11

Many thanks to Geraldine Donohoue for suggesting Altamont for this week...hope your back has recovered ? ? We were blessed with beautiful weather all day, which showed the area, at it's best.

Altamont was stunning, with plenty of areas with varied interest. The" Formal Gardens and lake", had plenty of Autumnal Colour, with interesting views to the main house. 

Further on a "Bog Garden" which lead to the magnificent timeless "Ice Age Glen". Then on through to the River Slaney.

From there, a steep climb up "100 steps", to "Altamont Temple Folly".

Overall there was something for everyone. A really enjoyable day, thanks to all who attended and helped make it so..

Rita Lett joined us for her first paint out yesterday. Geraldine Donohoue,Margaret Kent, Michael McGuire, Kevin Lewis, John Cullinan, Mary O Dowd, John MacManus, Barry Lynch, Ann Cahill, Shiela Foley, Terrence Gillespie, George,  and myself, made a crew of 14.
