Your Site For Artists Who Paint Outdoors

When Howth was mentioned as a Virtual Paint Out, I started looking for subject matter. I came across this image and I couldn't resist having a go. The scene is so evocative of Howth and during this lockdown I taught I would love Fish & Chips from Beshoffs. This image is copyright, but I don't know who the photographer is. I also reminded me of Sorolla as a scene. It is 10" x 9" done on gesso'd card and painted Al a  Prima in oils. I started it yesterday and finishes it a few hours ago. Approx 8 - hours.

Thank you for your favourable comments I enjoyed trying to paint a little looser. Looking forward to getting out with everyone again soon.

Gosh, I just saw this one Noel, your figure work is just getting better and better, its a great painting, full of movement and I like the design as well, a nice narrative going on with the little girl protecting her head as well. Well done Noel.

Noel, just found this, a superb painting, what a great moment the photographer caught. I wonder how the seagulls are surviving now, Id say they are out fishing, I can smell the salt and vinegar and hear the gulls screaming
