FStunningly beautiful, following in the footsteps of the late Tom Ryan and his famous rose paintings.
Thank you for your comment Michelle That poor rose has been abandoned in the same pot it came in several years ago and produced a beautiful rose this summer.
Oh I want to smell and touch that rose. It’s beautiful Sally.
Norah and Kyrle thank you both for your comments. No-one more surprised than myself that it turned out looking like a rose. And thanks Norah for choosing Hill of Down. A lovely spot. Passed the sign many times and often promised myself I’d investigate. But never did.
Sally, such a wonderful painting of a beautiful subjectand a rose is not the easiest flower to paint. The black seems to work ? Is that paper the Tim Fischer pastel paper ?
That's wonderful Sally, Those marks are so apt for the silky-ness of the petals and the colour gradation is superb, Its a fabulous study of the subject, You're flying with the Pastels. Well Done!!
