SEPA is an association of amateur and professional painters who paint together regularly outdoors in S.E. Ireland. All artists are welcome. SEPA organises Ireland's 'Art in the Open' plein air festival. SEPA membership is free. NB. As with all Paint-Outs posted on Plein Eire, these events are simply notifications of intent by one individual to be at a particular place and time to paint. Each member's participation is entirely at his/her own risk. No responsibility for harm or loss of person or property on the part of anyone else is intended or implied.

Here are a few ideas for paint-out venues. Please add your own suggestions and we'll get a schedule together for the coming weeks. Your addfitional recommendations welcome.

Ballinkeele House

Newtownbarry House & Gardens

Dunamore Wood (Borodale) (no facilities)

Rosslare Harbour Lagoon

Tinahely

Wexford Beaches

Wexford Gardens

The Still Pond, near Enniscorthy

As ever, it is weather permitting, so in case the organiser needs to cancel, please indicate by RSVP for each event so a single message will let everyone know if an event is 'On' or 'Off'.

In particular, it seems smaller villages where we have access to coffee and a bite and a chance to say'hello' are sought-after venues. Here are some suggestions:

Dunbrody Abbey,  Passage East,  Duncormick........these or any other preferences for this Sunday???

Dunbrody Abbey itself is closed until May, but the surrounding Countryside is beautiful.

Passage East - It has been a long time since we've visited here, - it  has plenty to offer

Duncormick - we enjoyed Duncormick a couple of weeks ago..is it too  soon to return?

Hi Karen Duncormick sounds great , happy to go there. Let's give it a

go , you say time and place. Packing car already!!

...or how about Duncormick - we haven't painted there before:

"Duncormick is located on beautiful River Muck and is one of the stops on the scenic Bannow Drive, a popular tourist trail "

It's close to a number of beaches, if we feel like a change. I have no info on facilities here ...so it would come under " a reconnaissance mission".... Any thoughts?

..or Dunbrody Abbey + suurounds ??

Thank you Karen for all the work you do planning our paintouts.

It's a hard job trying to please everyone. Well done. If anyone would like

to meet Sunday I would love to.

Brilliant Karen, very well planned to suit all.  Great to have a definate schedule laid out and an option for folks to suggest the 'alternative' options every other week!

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts. The year is ploughing on , and in the meantime, paintouts need to be planned. I've taken on board any suggestions that came up.

Running with

- Evey two weeks as our "Official" Paintout days.

I've made out a preliminary schedule, where you'll see that the locations are  mainly places we've been  before, and also a bit closer to our members who live further away from Wexford.

The Alternate weeks can be kept free, for other impromptu paint outs.

Here we have a facility, which will helps us get in touch with other plein air artists. If you are planning to visit a location to paint plein air, and would like company - let SEPA know. Others may be free to join you .
