Because we can't meet face-to-face, this is a Digital Virtual Paint-out for the Howth area , no matter where in Ireland, people live, with imagery we can access online in our own homes. Howth has a lot to offer with 2 lighthouses, a harbour with lots of colourful boats, a customs house, a martello tower and there's also a Howth castle.
And we have a week to produce a result. Participants can find their own inspirational images online, and because the source is digital, people from around the country can take part. Here are a few links.
First Google Street, where one can travel around in a virtual manner.

Thanks for organising that Zoom session today Noel, Its going to be very useful I think.
John Thats a great rendering of the Image from zoom today, you nailed the mood !!
Yes and you got those sky colours you wanted. Well done.
That's an amazing likeness, and so quick well done.
Thanks for organising that Noel. It was definitely the most civilised Zoom I've experienced so far. Very enjoyable.
Great idea!
Norah I agree with your idea for the Blog posting, Its great for projects like Sean's and keeps the Site more attractive to Strict Plein Air Painters. It may confuse some artists who want to show only their Plein Air work, but the Blog solves this dilemma and gives a forum for those who do both.
Sean, I was thinking it would be good to put them in a blog, that way they would all be together for marking this period in our lives. It would be good to see them all toghether, each with their own individual way of making the virtual painting. I started on mine today from old photos I have from some of our paintouts and a few half finished sketches. First attempt is in the bin, there is always tomorrow
Kevin, I think in the present circumstances, one of the most major crises, in the
history of the country, with people dying daily from it, we are allowed
to upload en plein air, due to exceptional circumstances, without our
integrity being compromised,.
