Event Description

Visit Hook Lighthouse for details and history of the Lighthouse dating from 1172 and recently voted the best in the world.

(Look I don't write this stuff, its only 'cut & paste'!)

Anyway, after hooking up (sorry!) with Margaret Kent and Michael McGuire in the car park, we will proceed to the Visitors Centre to be welcomed with a hot coffee at 10.30am. The Centre have kindly offered a free tour of the lighthouse (normally €6) after lunch as a bonus for participants in this Art in the Open paint-out.

Comment by Marsha Hamby Savage on July 26, 2011 at 14:23: Well, due to bad weather, out plane was held up for 4 hours in Atlanta, and we did not arrive in Philadelphia until 11:00 last night -- no flight out until tonight at 9:00 pm. So, we arrive in Dublin tomorrow morning around 8:45. Boy, what a night trying to find a hotel -- most all booked up. So, I don't know if I will see you guys tomorrow sometime during the day. I shall try to get out there for the afternoon probably. Michael, Tony said he would get to you -- I e-mailed him last night -- about not having someone pick me up in the morning. Thank you for that. If there is someone going out after lunchtime, I might hook up with them if I know about them!
