Hi, My Name is Ray, I'm originally from Mayo to where I've recently returned after a couple or four years traveling for work.
I'm a digital painter/designer/art director for the international animation industry by profession but am hoping that joining this group will give me the impetus to get up from behind the computer and out into the fields. (and maybe loose this…

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A painting by a 37-year-old Louisiana primate who applies color with his tongue instead of a brush has been deemed the finest chimpanzee art in the land.
Brent, a retired laboratory animal, was the top vote-getter in an online chimp art contest organized by the Humane Society of the United States, which announced the results Thursday. He won $10,000…

Hi fellow Artists ,
Well, tomorrow I will be heading off to the U.S.A. PG.
I have registered to take part in the Escalante Canyons Art Festival, which has a plein air painting competition. The event takes place from 20th Sept until 27th Sept.,
Last year, 76 artists took part in the event, just a FEW less than Art in the Open!!
I have packed up my gear for Oils, watercolours and inks with a few oil painting panels and some W/C paper thrown in!!
My total…

I've been weighing every art pad and canvas I've got to try and fit what I need into Ryanair's miniscule baggage. And as you are aware, fellow artists - I normally take evervthing except the kitchen sink. And my pink and white polka - dotted shopper will have to remain at home.
I'm going with thirteen others from the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club. It is a return visit, as the Sardinians visited here earlier in the year and experienced our delightful showery days. They…

A very good turn out yesterday in wet cold windy conditions. Some artists painted from their cars, others got shelter behind walls and I sat on a bench at the beach. Great to see everyone make the effort to go yesterday. There was plenty to paint but sadly the weather made it difficult to even stay outdoors. Worth a return visit in better conditions. I think winter has arrived and apologies as I forgot to take a photo of the group for posterity.

A huge THANK YOU, goes out to Marie-Christine O Brien, and Francoise Davidson, who arranged SEPA's visit to Bargy Castle last Sunday. A perfect venue, for our brave crew, recovering from the whirlwind which was "Art In The Open" ! A new venue, which was wonderfully peaceful, full of history and inspiration. The perfect antidote for paint exhaustion.
Francois…

A vote for us is a vote for Irish artists in general. We are trying to grow the Bloomsday festival into a massive street carnival, our very own Mardi Gras. We called our project 'Blowing up Bloomsday'. We've applied to the Arthur Guinness Projects funding online voting system and are looking for votes, we started later than most and need to cover a lot of ground to be in with a chance even as a wild card so please please if you can take two minutes to sign in and vote for us here we would…
