Plein Eire

Your Site For Artists Who Paint Outdoors

I've been weighing every art pad and canvas I've got to try and fit what I need into Ryanair's miniscule baggage.  And as you are aware, fellow artists - I normally take evervthing except the kitchen sink.  And my pink and white polka - dotted shopper will have to remain at home.

I'm going with thirteen others from the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club.  It is a return visit, as the Sardinians visited here earlier in the year and experienced our delightful showery days.  They have quite an programme set out for us, meeting mayors, the minister for culture, ceremonial meals, a Sardinian birthday party, a public paintout with a band playing, exchange of national and regional flags...

They are meeting us at the airport, and delivering us back there.  We have to provide our own coach for just one day.  The rest of the time we will be in private cars.

Can't wait!

But I have to be in the airport at 4.ooam - groan.

The old 'flag exchange' is a holiday essential. Glad you packed a couple of spares to bring along with you and I hate to think how much O'Leary would charge extra for the pole.

But jeepers, the intrepid JO'F is the Human Fly. He must have been in his velcro shorts! Great photo!

How about John O'Flynn precariously perched on a cliff.

One poor chap only booked his 15.2 kilo suitcase one way by mistake. He was charged €105 at the airport to get it home. Ryanair...

Thanks!  I've copied and pasted that to all the others who are travelling with me.

Sounds great Valerie. I'm told those Sardinians like to pack you all in very tightly! But after Ryanair, it should be a piece of cake.

Packing to Paint AbroadI I hope this may be helpful.
