On Friday's Culture Night, (23rd September) among several events taking place in Wexford, Plein Eire's  Kevin Freeney, Paul Maloney and Tony Robinson took part in a 'live' portrait painting session from 5.30 until 7.15pm in Spectrum Art Shop while onlookers could walk through, chat or pop back to see the progress.

Model for the evening was Wexford Rose, Mary Kehoe who kindly agreed to provide the inspiration for the trio.

 Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow proved to be a wonderful paint out location today. Though the weather Gods were not in our favor, we had plenty to see, that will whet our appetites for a return…

Headfort Bridge  over the Blackwater was the venue for a very happy paint-out.  The day was a pet day weatherwise. Sorry Anna, don't know what happened but I don't seem to have a pic of yourself - will do two next time!…

This Friday 23rd is Culture Night to encourage public engagement with the arts as well as a sort of celebration of anything and everything that is going on.

'Artists in the Open' a photographic exhibition, features photos of artists at work during last month's Art in the Open plein air festival and opens at 7pm in Wexford Library. The Library has events running from 6pm to 9pm.

Thanks to Jazz,  Aoife  and all the staff at Ferns Castle today, who were so helpful to us. We were able to peruse the Ferns Tapestry in the visitor center, and take part in an excellent tour of the castle, which houses some wonderful original 8oo yr old Norman architecture.

It was a "tale of two days", today, for our paint out in Courtown Harbour. The morning looked a little threatening, and, sure enough, by lunchtime we were racing for cover as the heavens opened!!The afternoon however saw some brightness on the horizon, and the sun came out to warm us!
