I painted this when I was in Carne with the Boyne Valley Plein Air group. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful subtle pastel blending of the colour tones that gives a very strong image.

I love the handling of the paint in this image Valerie, such clean decisive strokes and beautiful surfaces on the water especially towards the top left !  I also love the dynamic between the soft sweep of the mountain and the sharp solidity of the ruined gable and again in the modernity of the background houses and the ruin. You really caught it here, this one is a favourite of mine Great!
