New Ross is situated en route to Waterford City, and on a weekday, is subjected to a continuous stream of traffic running though it. We rarely think to divert from the "stream" and have a look around.
Well last Sunday we had the perfect day to do just that. Waterford Tall ships had absorbed most of the traffic, and New Ross became a sleepy, laid back town. Temperatures reached into the early 20's, with wonderful sunlight all day.
1.30 and the crew met up again in Corcran's of Irishtown, a lovely timeless pub with a picturesque garden at the back, where we got a great lunch, which recharged the batteries nicely. Then a relaxed trip back into town, to start "round two" of our painting.
We finished off the day, back in Corcrans, with tales of tall ships, our painting escapades, and excited murmurings of the up and coming Art In The Open Festival in Wexford...a little over three weeks to go!!
Mary, Barry ,Laura, Philip, Niall, Tony, Terrance,Margaret,Sandra, George, eleven in total turned out, and were'n't disappointed, as everyone was in top painting form! A great day, and thanks to everyone who came, and shared a wonderful days painting and chatting!!
