Well??...what's the mystery????
I believe a few nerves were present this morning, and some very tense body language, as SEPA gathered for our pre- festival "Mystery Paintout". There was nothing to be worried about really, we didn't have plein air bungy jump painting..or plein air while water skiing (we'll keep that for next year ;) )
Art In The Open, and Wexford In Bloom combined forces today, as SEPA drew lots to paint the 16 businesses that are competing in the Wexford In Bloom Festival. It was the "Luck of th draw", for the artist that happened to paint the winning entry ( which won't be known until Friday evening). The painting of the premises, (framing of which will be sponsored by Spectrum), will be presented , to the winning premises, and a "lump sum", given to the lucky artist who painted it.
It was a great bit of fun, and a real challenge to paint subject matter, that we may have steered away from. I think a few records emerged from the day, as Terrence completed two lovely pieces, and Geraldine also brought a piece to completion..Amazing what a bit of adrenaline can do!...maybe bungy jumping shouldn't be laughed at??
Overall some lovely work emerged, and I think the experience gave us just a little taste of the up and coming Art In The Open Festival. Always a great reaction from our locals, and a sense of achievement, when we get a painting completed. Can't wait!!..only 18 days 12 hours 51 minutes and 16, 15, 14, 13, 12,.... to go!!
