Making an Exhibition of Myself!

I have an exhibition running at the moment in the Cedars Hotel, Rosslare Strand (continues until 29th September), and to draw attention to it, I've decided to paint occasionally in the hotel lobby. I did my first session last Wednesday afternoon and got this far after about three hours or so (the painting is 20" x 24" oil on canvas - I'm using a small plein air study as a reference - the scene is near the Blasket Interpretive Centre in West Kerry):-

 

 

I'll be back painting there tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday 29th August), and will hopefully finish the painting or at least bring it close to a finish before I leave. Please drop in if you're in the area.

A much quieter afternoon in the hotel yesterday. Still, got to talk to a few people (and thanks to Karen for dropping by and taking this photo). And no, the Blasket Islands weren't on the other side of that window - my plein air study is partly visible on the bottom left-hand corner)!

It is well worth a visit to see the paintings even if one wasn't there in person to watch you at work.

And was I told you are buying a pint or an Irish coffee for everyone who calls in - did I hear that correctly?
