Plein Eire

Your Site For Artists Who Paint Outdoors

While being a member of a group is great for company and not being the only one in the vilage, it has its drawbacks, manily its lack of spontaniety. Groups havce to be organised and planed as far as possible.

I do agree that the organasised painting trip out is the only way that some people can focus on to get them out into the open, and the spontaniety comes then. I have a bag constantly packed compleat with camera in case I cant get to paint, the sceen can br recorded. ps I do enjoy organised paint outs.

Its hard to be spontaneous about painting plein-air when you are busy with family and luckily work so for me the advantage of an organised paint out is that I make time free for it and find that though I often feel too tired on sat morning to pack up the car for the day when I do make the effort the spontaneity often follows.  I also have a small rucksack with a small watercolour pad etc which I go out on my own when the mood grabs me !
