Many thanks Norah they were a challenge with all that cross-hatching. Delighted to say I sold the Pikeman this week.

These are brilliant Kevin and it's good to see studio work. Yes,it's tough getting back to being outdoors and meeting up in busy places but it's inspiring to paint with like minded friends so I hope we can all do that now.

Aah thank you Kyrle for your very kind comments. Yes, I haven't been doing as much as I would like. Have the interest but can't get going somehow so thought I'd go back to basics. Have been following the exploits of the BV group and see ye are as active as ever. Regards to all next time you meet up.

Well these are just exquisite Kevin, you don't forget anything by the look of it!, I think they are among your very best.I love the contrast achieved by the dark Ink and paper tone, also the Line weight and hatching is beautifully varied, giving lovely marks. I can see why you will do more, Its much more defined in my eyes, so well done , yes indeed more please,

Also you are not the only one to have taken a hiatus, Covid did a lot of damage with respect to Plein air Work in my view, both to group work and individual health minding. but now we are back !!! great to see you on Plein Eire again.

As I haven't done any painting for a while now (just can't seem to get going), I decided to return to how I began many years ago. originally with pen and ink. I just love drawing so much and having sketched out the skeleton of the piece with pencil I then begin the time consuming detail with pen and ink. The above three pics were all done during last week and they are from top to bottom, Franciscan Friary, Wexford - Interior of St.Iberius Church, Wexford and the Pikeman Statue, Bull Ring, Wexford. Really enjoyed doing them and will definitely try a few more
