The website, www.artintheopen.org went live a couple of months ago and already a large number of artists have registered for Europe's biggest plein air event, forming the nucleus of another exciting festival. Extra names will be added below over the coming weeks as new people register.
Remember, there are some fascinating hands-on workshops, both all-day studio-based ones and half-day plein air ones, each limited to 12 places. You do not have to register as a festival participant to book a place on a workshop. But don't miss out on them, because when they are gone, they're gone.

Don't forget, unlike previous years, registration this year can ONLY be done ONLINE.
It is much more practical now that the festival is extended to a full week and the range of venues has been extended.
Because of the bank holiday weekend, Wexford will be busy and accommodation scarce, so book early and don't be disappointed or find yourself paying more than necessary.
Oooooooooooooops Laura, sorry ! When I read over my last rather factual post it does sound a bit em; in your face. Anyway I didn't mean it as shouty as it looks. You're on the list as will Paul Maloney, who has just registered. Now there's a guy who'd want to be careful of his behaviour and manner! ;-)
There is a link on the Artintheopen.org homepage, updated just now, which lists the 38 Irish, the 8 from USA, the 4 Northern Irish, the 2 from UK, the 2 Spanish, the Australian, the Canadian, the German and the Netherlander who have so far registered online. The registration fee rises by €10 in 4.5 days.
California Artist, Paul Strahm, won an award for one of his paintings at AITO last year. Unfortunately, Paul and his partner can't make it to AITO 2012 but he is still painting energetically and his many friends may like to follow Paul's latest endeavours here.
Lori Putnam, who will be giving 2 workshops during Art in the Open 2012, is in the news again.
Have you booked any workshops yet? They are filling up fast and don't forget, this year you can only register to take part online - you won't be able to turn up on the day as in previous years - Register before 1st July and save yourself €10.
