These four pieces were completed at the Brandenburg Berlin Painting event at Alttymen earlier this year. The paintings bring back lovely memories of painting with friends and artists both old and new. 

Three were done en plein air and the fourth was painted upstairs looking at the landing window on the third floor outside the kitchen.

The three paintings that I posted here today were from a trip to Zion which Jane Meyler and I made after the Plein Air Convention in 2012. It was difficult to keep a flow to the work as the heat literally sucked the moisture out of the paper. Luckily I had a spray bottle to use this did help and I would advise anyone painting watercolour in warm temperatures to have a spray bottle to hand it really helps. This was one of three paintings completed in the Heritage park Ferrycarrig Wexford, a few weeks ago.

I really enjoyed the day there, with other members of SEPA.

My aim was to try to capture the play of shadows as they changed and lengthened very quickly through the afternoon.

Hi everyone..I'm looking forward to coming back this summer for the Show! I love Ireland and the wonderful friendly and fun loving souls. I plan on doing two three day workshops; a Portrait workshop and a Plein Aire just before the Art in the Open Show. They will be held out of Karen Scannell's studio just out of Wexford.
