Wow sean.ur on a roll.
We went to that waterfall last year, it was not as I had imagined it to be from the poem but then you have to see it through the eyes of Yeats and from his time - it is all made safe for us tourists now with safety rails and signed tracks to follow.
I hadn't heard them, but prompted by your suggestion Norah, I have been playing their Stolen Child on youtube. It's a half-remembered poem that runs through one's soul from schooldays and it was just marvellous to hear it put sensitively to music.
It is by the Waterboys Sean, have you heard them singing the Yeats poem - The stolen child ? A lovely part of the country for painting too !
Thanks Deirdre and Norah for your kind comments, and for that lovely poem of the fisherman and the sea.
Sean your marine paintings are beautiful - your love of the sea shines out
"Fisherman's Blues"
I wish I was a fisherman
Tumblin' on the seas
Far away from dry land
And its bitter memories
Casting out my sweet line
With abandonment and love
No ceiling bearin' down on me
Save the starry sky above
With light in my head
You in my arms
Woo!
Restfu boatl Sean...You caught the cheeky bens "Now you see me ,now you dont"
..Great to catch you folks....
Thanks Deirdre, Rhoda, Caroline and Sally for your very kind comments.
Very nice Sean and it'll be a great for 'conceptualizing' in the winter months. I especially like your ripples in the sand effect in the foreground.
Sean, A masterpiece as always!
