Alcobertas, Portugal, (O Casal)
watercolor sketch. 8x12 cm.
Candeeiros mountain, west coast of Portugal.
This is a mountain house where my grandparents lived all their lives.
Nobody lives there anymore but Tintin, the dog.

Hi Kevin,
Thank you so much for sharing with me.
I love watercolours and oils, but I haven't got the time these days to go out and paint.
Too much work, so...
I hope I can do some plein air painting next month.
About Tintin, he is a guardian dog of the house. I'm not sure if he guards anything, because he is very friendly by day. At night he is a wonderful guardian.
My little companion pictured on my webpage is Tiger (imagine that!), 7 years old, 9 Kg, but we call him Tiggy. Wonderful dog.
And as I can see by the picture, you love dogs too.
Thanks again, Kevin, I appreciate your comments very much.
Hi Norah,
Thank you very much.
This one was done on watercolour paper (Canson 200 g) very smooth.
I normaly use 300 g/m2 or more, but I use 200 g/m2 in this size (12x8 cm or 10x15cm). I usually buy A4 pads and then I cut them with a x-acto and make little pads with some glue on the side and that's it.
I have a little bag (about 10x15x6 cm), this little watercolour paper pad, a little palette box with half pans, a water tank brush, a pen and a pencil.
With this kind of very light weight equipment it is possible to carry it everywhere and do a small watercolour sketch in about 5, 10 or 15 minutes. It works great!
A great fresh watercolour sketch - like the looseness, is it done on cartridge paper ?
