Well done Deirdre !!

I'm with you on the last minute thing...I thought I'd learned my lesson after the first month....but put it on the long finger again, and again ,and again :))

Great series and well worth the effort!!

Thanks Norah Deirdre Sean. Feels worth it now....I have forgotten the pain of facing a soaked, lacklustre garden . Thank you for your comments all along. If I had met with silence I might have stuck it out by the stove.

Those windows have become quite familiar in your delicious paintings over the past 12 months.

Congratulations, Deirdre.

You put most of us to shame with your dedication and talent and are ( I believe) the first Plein Eire member to complete 12 months of the Calendar Challenge. I think Karen Scannell may close behind but is cutting it fine to get an October entry in. Well done to you both and what a great set of paintings. They really do reflect the changing light and greenery so effectively.

However, the majority who (like me) have so far failed to complete the challenge, should be inspired but not defeated. This challenge is not time-limited. Kevin Macpherson took 4 years for his project. Like the brave souls  who undertook the Dublin City marathon this weekend, the goal is to complete the course at your own pace.

To see how Deirdre recorded the passage of a year in her garden follow this link.

Was just thinking of your garden yesterday and wondering how it would look in autumn - wonderful brushwork and subdued autumn touches - you have given us all a lesson in sticking to the brief !

Well!!!! For a last minute painting, it looks VERY WELL. Love the detail in the background - it pulls you right into painting
