Your Site For Artists Who Paint Outdoors

This 12" x 9" oil squeezed in amongst the prizewinners selected by Thomas Ryan PPRHA following Inez Nordell's 'Paint the Parish' event on Saturday 7th May. It was a fun event to take part in and chance to meet many friends there. Thanks, Inez.

They are called "plane trees" Tony, also known as the "London plane", as they are quite common throughout the city. You can identify them by the bold patches on the bark. They are very popular in this area of Dublin and along the South Circular Road, where I lived for a few years. Yes, an impressive structure and always adds a melancholy atmosphere to the streets on a rainy dull day.

Thanks John. You don't happen to know what kind of trees these are? They're fantastic and make a sort of gothic interior of the whole street.

For those who know this part of Dublin it's a beautiful rendition with heart Tony.
