I enjoyed standing at my front door on Saturday trying this, neigbhbours sitting outside chatting from a distance. It felt like I was back in time when people sat out front, maybe washed down the front steps and made most of their lot. The grass verge got somewhat extended.

Ah Thank you Cathal, Kyrle, Sally and Kevin for your kind comments, it was an easy subject with no drawing or thinking involved. I am never comfortable painting with noise or people around so it was good to tackle that end of it, the oils were on my palette from a colour study I was doing inside so it was brushed on quite quickly. I have always found oils difficult and am so tempted to get out the wc but Ill stick at it a while longer - till my white paint runs out

Norah. That's beautiful.  And glad to see you're keeping the oil painter’s flag flying. A very happy painting and a lovely story and memory to go with it.
