SEPA is an association of amateur and professional painters who paint together regularly outdoors in S.E. Ireland. All artists are welcome. SEPA organises Ireland's 'Art in the Open' plein air festival. SEPA membership is free. NB. As with all Paint-Outs posted on Plein Eire, these events are simply notifications of intent by one individual to be at a particular place and time to paint. Each member's participation is entirely at his/her own risk. No responsibility for harm or loss of person or property on the part of anyone else is intended or implied.

Here are a few ideas for paint-out venues. Please add your own suggestions and we'll get a schedule together for the coming weeks. Your addfitional recommendations welcome.

As ever, it is weather permitting, so in case the organiser needs to cancel, please indicate by RSVP for each event so a single message will let everyone know if an event is 'On' or 'Off'.

In particular, it seems smaller villages where we have access to coffee and a bite and a chance to say'hello' are sought-after venues. Here are some suggestions:

Comment by Philip Dundon on April 27, 2012 at 15:06: HI Everyone...I drove through Kildavin last week it looked interesting and I dont think we have been there before It might be worth a visit.....a pub,river ,bridge,two churches....a three legged dog ,two chickens, and three inhabitants !!!!!!. what do you think??

I'll probably park in the "car park" down the road to the beach (third left I think after you leave Fethard-on-Sea on the coast road). I'll probably start on the beach in the morning - it should be sheltered from the North wind down there. And maybe brave the headland in the afternoon!

Comment by Michael McGuire on April 14, 2012 at 13:12: Well, I'm considering going to Baginbun Head/Carnivan Bay, unless we get a repeat of this morning's thunderstorms (tripped our main electrical switch and knocked out telephones in the area). I'm also thinking of going back to Thomastown if it's really sunny, because it was really dull on our last visit. Any preferences anyone?
