Comment by Sally Downey on July 24, 2019 at 17:24: Delighted to see Mellifont is our destination this week, Sean. I think it is worth pointing out that there are TWO Mellifonts! I kid you not. The one we're interested in is the Old Mellifont not the one in Collon which is the one where you might go to retreat from the world and/or do religious exercises - in silence - which might be a problem for some of us.

I would suggest the most direct route from Slane would be -

take N51 towards Drogheda and turn left at first roundabout towards Collon. Watch out for signs to turn left for Mellifont.
