The beautiful and diverse village of Howth beckons for this saturday. Subjects range from a huge variety of boats, old village houses if you meander the back streets and of course the wonderful heather and gorse are in bloom for those seeking a touch of vibrant colour. In a change from previous paint outs I plan to arrive around 10am to paint , then break for lunch around 1pm before either trying a second painting or whatever the mood takes on the day. Hope to meet some of you there

Norah, thanks for organising today, and lovely to see everyone. Having such a fabulous day makes all the difference. Caroline
Thanks Norah, but we will be driving.
Rosa, I didn't know you were in Ireland!
Dear Plein Eire group,
I hope some of you could visit our Exhibition from BCFE Illustration, Graphic Design and Fabric at the Cowshed Farmleigh, Phoenix Park from 6.30 to 8 pm.
I attach the link.

Valerie, did you hear that there will be no train service via Howth for the weekend ? I had planned to use it but will drive, here is the info from Irish rail
I'll be there with Svetlana and Paula.
We will meet for coffee at 10am in Insomnia, 10 Harbour road, Howth. I think it is just across the road from the car parks at the harbour
Margeret and Rosemary, I added a comment about location but not sure where it is gone. That sounds like a good place to meet but I am not sure where that is ? There is the Yacht Club but I think that is for member only I think. We have met before in the Sutton Cross Hotel but I might getting the train out, so I will go straight to the harbour first and join you all in the afternoon - we are always flexible with our arrangements :) If you find out where the club is etc, I can send another email out with alternative arrangements or you can go to Groups and send a message there to the group. I think those emails are set up as "no reply". I know in the past this has caused confusion as people sometimes reply but the host does not get the email. I will send you my phone no on pm , Norah
Sean, I do remember an old saying being recited on the first day of May but I will have to make a few phone calls to see if anyone in the family remembers them. The gorse Sally painted brought it all back, indeed I bought a furze for the garden today to attract the bees in.
Sean and Norah, thanks so much for both of your comments about furze/gorse. Really interesting, and they fill out my pleasure in seeing it all over the place again.Sean, your experience was a bit weird! The Druids our the Dé Danaan? And it still returns for thousands of years!
Norah,Howth would be lovely and plenty of varied places to paint. But Rosemary and I couldn't really make it before 11. I know it can be crowded, and Sally suggested that we could meet in the golf club?. As you know she can't come herself, but she said there's loads of parking there and a cafe I think. Would it work as a venue? Hope to see you, Margaret
