Gaeltacht thair tir Chona - TEACH MHUIRIS VIEWPOINT

The paintout on Saturday, 20 July 2024 is Teach Mhuiris viewpoint (near Cnoc Fola).   We will be meeting at Fairyglen Café just after 10am – the café is in Derrybeg, pass Siopa Mhici on the left hand side and keep going up the hill and around the bend and you will see turquoise signs on the right (F92 XD7T gets your roughly there, it does not have drive in updated yet). And just to share, the Café opens at 10am so don’t be too early.

Teach Mhuiris used to be a copper work studio and shop housed in a thatched cottage. From the viewpoint you can see the cottage behind and towards the Atlantic the multitude of stone walls and old fields towards Cnoc Fola.

It is July, the middle of summer theoretically, so have the sunscreen ready, just in case! Otherwise, be prepared for all weather: layers for hot and cold, cover for rain, a chair, light lunch, hot or cold drink, and of course your art materials or whatever you need for the time you are about. All are welcome to come along in body - and mind.
