Gaeltacht thair tir Chona - Maas (Lettermacaward) at Waterfront

April 19, 2025 from 10am to 4pm
The paint out on Saturday, 19 April 2025 is the viewing point/picnic area just outside of Maas (Lettermacaward) off the N56. There is plenty of parking with views of the Gweebarra river bay towards Portnoo and across towards Dooey. We will be meeting around 10am in The Waterfront hotel (F94 W974) on Mill Road in Dungloe and make our way from there. It is April, living up to its name after a lot of sunshine it has been mixed and rather cold as of late… So trust your individual thermometer to…See More

Gaeltacht thair tir Chona - Ballymastocker Bay at The Narrow Quarter Bistro

April 12, 2025 from 10am to 4pm
The paint out on Saturday, 12 April 2025 is Ballymastocker Bay (towards Fanad). There is plenty of parking along the way of the bay though we will aim for the viewing point to look out over the whole bay. We will be meeting at 10am in The Narrow Quarter Bistro on the Main Street in Kerrykeel. It is April. Last week was extraordinarily sunny, and it looks like most of the week is too yet we do not know about Saturday yet… Let’s trust our individual thermometer to make choices on what we need. It…See More

Gaeltacht thair tir Chona - Cruit island at Time and tide

April 5, 2025 from 10am to 4pm
The paint out on Saturday, 5 April 2025 is on Cruit island. There is plenty of parking at the pier towards Owey and there should also be parking at the golf club. We will get views of Owey, the rocks and sea…maybe wild life will come visit too, and fingers crossed nobody will be hit by golf balls - we should be well out of range! We will be meeting at 10am in Time and tide on the main street in Annagry. The owner has changed but I was reassured it would re-open on Friday. We will make our way…See More

The paintout this Saturday, 1 March 2025, is Crohy head (viewing point) south of Dungloe town up into the hills and along the cliffs with views across to Dooey beach and Portnoo. We will be meeting around 10am in The Waterfront hotel (F94 W974) on Mill Road in Dungloe and make our way from there. It is March, so definitely spring yet still more in theory than reality with yellow blossoms only lightly dotted around in gorse and daffodils… So make sure to bring what you need to stay warm and…See More

February 22, 2025 from 10am to 4pm
The paintout on Saturday, 22 February 2025 is at Milford, town of the gallóglach, once famous for its bakery and mills. Milford offers a wide range of urban scenes to choose from: historic, maintained as well as derelict private, public, religious and commercial buildings so there should be something for everyone to delight in. We will be meeting at 10am in The Coffee Garden (F92 YCW7) off the R245 in the Milford Retail and Business Park (take the turnoff for Lidl - if you pass you have gone…See More

Sorry for only getting back to you now.  I somehow didn't see the Friend Request, so apologies for that.  Wishing you the very best with your "New Duties".  Dee will be a very hard act to follow, and we had some really great times up in "her Sweet Donegal", and hope we will again!

A beautiful county for scenery and wild beauty, and a really lovely group of local artists.

A lot of Caroline's spelt loads of different ways!

Hello Carolin, yes you are right. We could never figure out how it happened but I suspect it has caused me a lot of bother. If you can get rid of the other one I give you permission to do so Carolin. I am not even on the friends list and I suspect for the same reason. Nora

hello Carolin. I'm a dormant member but I might venture out one fine day! Good luck with your new post. Carolyn (pronounced the same way as yours when I'm lucky!)

Welcome Carolin, I hope you get lots of enjoyment from this site, There's a very good Plein air group active in Donegal, you should see paint-outs posted nearly every weekend by them, a hardy bunch, weather does not seem to frighten them at all!! lol so be prepared to don the rain gear  and explore the joys of Plein Air  its challenges.
