Delvin Bog, Westmeath paint-out with Boyne Valley Plein Eire. Meet at 11am in the Cumann Bar and Restaurant for coffee, chat and a guide. Meet again in same place around 3p.m for more coffee and chat.

Comment by Norah Blount on June 5, 2013 at 19:53: Sean, I am at a workshop this sat in Kennedy's but Paddy is going to make sure you all get lost !!! The bog is stunning this week - I am off down tomorrow to paint, there are lots of locals out taking in the turf (is that called "footing the turf ?) but there are quieter areas too and Paddy will show you where to go. There are also some nice old buildings around Delviin - the old castle etc and there is also a lovely forested area - picture attached, this lane leads up to a beautiful area full of bog cotton and there was a cuckoo cuckoooooing there on monday (and it wasnt sean this time ) . This lane way open out to a preserved bog, so enjoy your day on sat :)
