Event Description

'Scaling up' -
After discussing this with others while across the pond, I think this would be a fun and very learning experience. Use one of your paintings from the week leading up to, after, and including the Plein Eire Festival, and enlarge it, trying to maintain the freshness of the original. The new, larger one should be at least 16x20 (or larger of the original is this size). They can then be posted together on this site. You have a whole month to get thoughts together and begin.--or rather finish.

Well, I hope I didn't accidentally send the last thing--it just disappeared. anyway, I think the Corot is kinda spectacular in it's looseness--I'm always going back and forth with the concept of how loose. I even ponder it while I'm painting, which probably is not the best way to focus. But I do like the idea of taking a sketch or even two and creating a painting in the studio. I'm at a paint out this weekend and will try to work on that after---I think it's always hard for me to stop at a sketch and not try to finish. Thoughts?

Here is another blog dealing with some historic pochades - look out for the Corot one.

Here's a link to a plein air big-scale painter. But apart from enlarging, what about taking a sketch plein air and making more of certain qualities in the studio?

Hi David.
Not much painting. Been a bit occupied with the less important stuff which nevertheless tends to fill those gaps in my life where painting isn't..Like car airbags going off - Boof!
Should be out with the usual suspects in Ballyhack Sunday, though.

Posting images to the Comment Wall beneath an Event seems to be working. I see Karen put one on there. - Just click the little camera icon and upload the image from a folder on your computer. The file shouldn't be too large, if your camera saves Raw files you might need to save a smaller copy as a jpeg file first and upload that version. But I'm sure you probably know all that.
Other than that, I'm mystified. Let me know if any of that works for you.
