art in the Open

A very huge thanks to all planners and participants in Art in the Open. I don't remember when I have felt so welcomed and encouraged. I have been to quite a few paint outs, both juried and open, and would put this one at the top for it's organization and inclusiveness. Everything went smoothly from the time I got there until I had to say good by I don't know if I have met such a welcoming group of folks as you. I showed up pretty much a stranger and, after meeting you felt that I had known you… Read on...

Sat in Easton Md

My final challenge painting, was able to sell this one also, so the burning blacktop was a little easier; and the quick draw in Easton (garden scene) a crowd of about 150 painting within a few blocks at 105 degrees temp. Looking forward to 65 degrees in Ireland--probably go into shock.

last day

Day seven of small works challenge---temp keeps climbing, but that is what makes it a challenge---sold one of the small works off the easel---one of the finer points of confronting the open air and public. Can't do that in a studio.

small works

Day 5 of a week of small works--sun came out, heat went up, and met a lot of nice people. Did part of a street.

Hey David ..how you do'in ??

The Exhibition in Enniscorthy looks really impressive. The new venue (Enniscorthy library), and "showing them in the location they were painted, has given me a new appreciation of the works!

I think the people of Enniscorthy received it well, and are appreciating their town all the more.

The Exhibition runs until September 9th.  Did you have a good birthday, and how did the showing of your works turn out??

I finally did rent a car in Wexford.  I am not brave enough to drive around Dublin.  I'll go exploring after the festival.  I have one place to stay with some friends near Connemara.  Looking forward to meeting everyone in a couple weeks.
