Event Description

'Scaling up' -
After discussing this with others while across the pond, I think this would be a fun and very learning experience. Use one of your paintings from the week leading up to, after, and including the Plein Eire Festival, and enlarge it, trying to maintain the freshness of the original. The new, larger one should be at least 16x20 (or larger of the original is this size). They can then be posted together on this site. You have a whole month to get thoughts together and begin.--or rather finish.

Well David...after much putting off and stuff getting in the way...I finally managed to get to the challenge...I've enlarged the one I did on the last paintout of the festival down at The Hook. This is 24" x 18" and the original is 14 x 10. Now to try upload them!!!

I hope I can get mine in. Not from the festival though. I am on my way to Maine, to be the Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park for two weeks. Half way there after a long day of driving from Virginia to Conneticut. I will try to do a small one, and upscale it. I had known exactly which painting I wanted to upscale, but ran out of time before I left. Everyone's work looks wonderful!
