Frank O'Meara workshop and Plein Air Contest.
In honour of late artist Frank O'Meara, there will be a plein air day and competition at Duckett's Grove, Bennekerry which is 2.5 miles from Carlow Town.
As part of the Bennekerry Gathering weekend there will be a family day with evening banquet in the historic grounds of Duckett's Grove Gothic Mansion Ruins, remembering International artist, the late Frank O'Meara who is buried in the local graveyard.
Mary Stratton Ryan who has studied Frank O' Meara for 40 years will give a short talk, and judge the work of the day for which there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize.
1st prize - Artist Palett, linen canvas, top quality hog hair brushes and paints to the value of €200.00
2nd prize - Artist's Easel
3rd prize - Artist's sketchbook and drawing materials.
It will be a fantastic event for all artists and a number of local artists will be taking part. As part of this event, the organisers would like to invite you to take part in the Plein Air workshop.
