"The Swallowsnest Studio "

BROADWAY, CO. WEXFORD...

Also "PLEIN AIR ARTISTS " Website

What does an Artist gain from working " En Plein Air", that working in a studio doesn't achieve? I asked this question before painting outdoors, and after time, began to realize the wealth of information I had been turning my back on. I have a wide interest in Art and work in various  media, materials, and methods.  Plein Air , for me, has become a "touchstone" and a discipline - a connection with our "present", and helps to remind me of the beauty and inspiration to be found in our immediate surroundings.Painting Plein Air, I try to act as a "conduit" to the viewer, attempting to evoke the sense of curiosity and emotional response, which first caused me to stop - and look again...

Karen sorry to hear about the winding down of 'The Swallow Nest'. Unfortunately I won't make it down tomorrow evening but may I say a big 'Thank you'  to you for all the times I enjoyed there in the company of yourself and other good friends. Also one to you for your attentive ear on occasions. You know the ones I mean. All the best for the future have a great evening. See you at AITO?

Nice to meet you. It turns out that when I researched the Berlin workshop some more, that Fürstenberg is one and a half hours from Berlin, too far to travel from my friend's apartment in Berlin where I could stay. So it would not work for me. I live in Kansas City, do you ever visit the States?

OK. We'll see if anyone else has an idea. I thought we were going to Hook but if the gang ain't going I won't go that far. I have been out during the week painting Ferrycarrig jetty and castle. I may just go back there if nothing definite is posted. And the hotel is handy for a bit of lunch...

Today I happened upon this link, which gives some of the background to the story...I wonder if any of his work exists today ? A book on his prose, and…
