A 'Paint-Out' can be arranged by anyone. Even an impromptu session can be posted here if the weather is promising and you have an afternoon or a morning to spare. We try to meet regularly. Just decide on a time and a suitable venue and post a notice on the group page and 'Events'.
Time and location to be posted in advance both on "Plein Eire Dublin" and "Events" pages on this Plein Eire site.
RSVP on 'Events' for notice to be sent to you in the event of any change in plans or check this Plein Eire Dublin Group page on the morning of a paint-out .
Members may also propose paint-outs at other times as suits them and ask for other members who may be available to join them.

Hi Plein Eire Dubliners!
Next Saturday's First-Sat-of-Month 06/04 will be to St Anne's Park, Raheny, Dublin 5, hosted by Jean English- Meet at Red Stables cafe. The Red Stables are best reached (by car or bus) off Mount Prospect Avenue, which is the left turn off the coast road (Clontarf Road) as soon as you meet the park on way out. A short distance up the road there is an entrance to the park on the right. Parking on roadside there or in park adjacent to Red Stables. Meet at 11 for 11.30 start. - JOF (Google Maps 53.369132 N,-6.175861W)
Hi Jean,
That would be great! Will you take appointment?!
It's ironic that St Annes is very local to me but I feel we have alot of southsider members and I am reluctant to draw them out of their comfort-zone!!! That said we've had Paint-Outs to Howth, Bull Island, both quite near to St Annes.
The usual routine is to place a notice here on this web-page, copy that text into an email to all Group members ("Send Message to Group" box on this page), and also put notice in Plein Eire "Events": I can do those for you if you would like.
Great to get such an enthusiastic response!

Hi there,
I know I'm a newbe but I would like to meet anyone interested in painting out on the day. St Annes park Raheny is an amazing place... Cafe in the red stables, and an array of places to paint, both within the park and surrounds: Dollymount strand, accross the road; Raheny itself with some lovely old cottages, and a fantastic church building. The park has a stream running through it and a pond on the Clontarf side.
The cafe in the park has a free car park right beside it.
I'd be willing to do the meeting and greeting.
Any takers?
Jean English
Yes- PE Administrator - next PEDublin Paint-Out will be Sat, Apr 6th. However you've prompted me address an issue to all PE Dubliners! I've just been invited to a significant b'day celebration in Cork on 6/03, others who have organised First-Sat-Paint-Outs in past are not available: Tom Scott will be hanging the Dublin Painting & Sketching Club annual exhibition, and John McManus will be on holiday! Any volunteers? I have a list of candidate locations (ie Iveagh Gardens? Smock Alley & Wood Quay? St Patricks Cathedral & Park? Upper Dodder Pzrk?...and more..).Someone just needs to take it in hand and nominate a location & cafe...! Anyvolunteers?

Will the next PED paint-out be on the 6th April?
John,
Good idea. Because of my travel distance I tend to leave before finish time. I would like to see what others have produced. Also your offer to enhance work sounds very helpful!
Hi
Tks to the approx 12 artists who turned out at Herbert Park last Sat, 2/03.
I wonder would it be good idea if we posted one painting or sketch from a participant after each Paint-Out? It might let others see what we are up to. This should nt turn into an art competition. In order to portray an image of the place or the day in a quite small format its graphic or other quality may be more important. If anyone wants to send me a shapshot of a painting or sketch, I can square it off, crop it, and enhance it a bit so it reads as a record of our time out - and an advertisment for subsequent Paint-Outs.
Let me know what you think. - Best - John O'F/087 2709097
Calling all ye Plein Eirer's!
As per Dierde M's suggestion might I suggest we go to Herbert Park, between Donnybrook & Ballsbridge, for Sat 02/03 Paint Out? At a cursory glance there seems to be quite a bit there: urban park, playground, tennis court, period houses, etc. Parking is free on Sat along side of park - but perhaps go early to ensure a space. "Austerity" coffee and cake for E3.75 in Insomnia Cafe on main road at Ballsbridge end. Meet at 11 for 11.30 start?
Fingers crossed for some sunshine!
Best- JOHN O FLYNN/087 2709097
