Details to follow, but the dates of AITO 2018 are as shown and begin with a paint-out in Wexford town on Sunday 29th July. There follows 5 further paint-outs to different beautiful locations (tba) which are an easy drive or take the festival bus leaving each morning from near the main station and returns to collect you each evening.
There will be a full programme of optional artists' plein air workshops which take place each day on location. Social events, lectures, Quick Draw and great fun culminate in a two-day exhibition on 5th and 6th August with significant cash awards.
Now in its 11th year this is Europe's largest plein air painting event.
This year there will be a cap to the number of participants to ensure those who participate have the most enjoyable possible experience.

As another great festival closes, the organisers would like to sincerely thank all those artists whose sense of fun and enthusiasm makes this such a special event. Until next time, happy painting and as Dave Allen used to say, 'May your God go with you''.
You can buy your ticket on the bus, Mary.
Do you need to get a bus ticket ahead of time? Or just buy at the Dublin airport. Wexford Bus terminal?
No,There will be an orientation meeting sometime on Saturday evening 28th July and aimed primarily at first time visitors but all welcome to drop by and say hello. . My guess around 8pm in White's Hotel but a time has still to be fixed.
Paint-Outs start on Sunday 29th July and each day until Saturday 4th August. On that day artists hand in their two selected paintings for exhibition. In the afternoon is the Quick Draw. The exhibition opens on Sunday 5th with awards etc. and the artists' dinner in the evening. On Monday (a public holiday in Ireland), there is an informal paint-out until the exhibition closes in the evening. Work unsold may be picked up then or on Tuesday morning.
If the schedule is usually the same, which days are paint outs, which ones the show and which one the dinner? This will be the first time I'm there.
Hi Amanda. Fly to Dublin. Take a bus from the airport direct to Wexford (takes about 2 hours 30 minutes and costs approximately €30 return fare). White's Hotel is good but not cheap. B&Bs include the Blue Door, St. George's Guesthouse, Abbey House, Cuasnog or St. John's B&B. Or else try AirBnB or the local Tourist Office: https://www.discoverireland.ie/Activities-Adventure/wexford-tourist...
Would love to come but could someone help me please?
I need to sort accommodation as I have never been to wexford before.
also what airport is closest I can fly in from Italy?
thanks Amanda
Hi René, the PayPal option should be there now.
Looking forward to seeing you again
Sorry folks, if I was mistaken. I'm asking Kevin to have a look into it and get back on these pages about it. He'll let us know.
