Thelma and me are on our way,

 There’s a full load in the back,and

We’re off for a day’s sketching, painting and CRAIC

“I hope I get something down today” she doesn’t reply she’s nothing to say,

But I’m not miffed she houlds her whisht, that’s her way, so along we sway.

“Clonegal today we’re meeting the crowd”..

“Will there be two, three, ten twenty or more”

  I wonder out loud.

Thelma stays silent not knowing the score.

“The telly’s coming” so Tony said,

That’s what I was thinking as I got out of the bed.

Saturday morning.. It felt strange to be rising

But the lure of Plein Air was on the horizon.

The slow sluggish shuffling start to the day

Speeded up as I thought of the way,

Thelma and me join in the fun,

All  the lovely fine days enjoying the sun,

The craic and the jeering and sometimes the “beering”!

Good-natured Banter with no underhand sneering!

About the HAMES I made of my artwork last week

Hey “Maloney let’s take a peek

 at what you’re doing today”,

 Oh! Thelma move over,

You’re in the way,

Of the cameraman focused in awesome wonder,

On his wonderful work

 So don’t steal his thunder,

Move fast as you can to the next location

Sure there’s nothing on Earth like the Plein Air Recreation.

Well I hope we did well for Nationwide

And  gave a really good image of painting outside,

Cos it’s really “BRILLIANT” and I don’t mind being quoted

This Painting Plein Air should be widely Promoted

On T.V. and Radio on Posters and Stamps

The craic, camaraderie, challenges and cramps,

The Life-long memories and Plein-Air chants

“There is nothing quite like it” I hope you agree

Im speaking for Thelma and of course for me

Well Thelma and me

 we enjoy our Affaire

Out in the open, and  painting Plein Air.
