SEPA in Duncormick, Co.Wexford. Sunday 19/01/14

Annie Cahill, Phil Hofler, Tom King, George McHugh, Neil O'Keeffe, Tony Robinson, Karen Scannell and Louise Treacy gotr their brushes wet in and around the village of Duncormick for a first paint-out of 2014. Wet and chilly to start but brightened up with clear light and strong cloud shapes in the afternoon. Most of the group settled in nearby Cullenstown where there is an amazing piece of 'outsider art'; a cottage decorated in seashells. The quiet Cullenstown strand affords good views of the Saltee Islands and inland across rolling, windswept countryside.

We were later joined by painter Shirley Walsh, her husband James and their Irish Wolfhound and most of us ended our day by the fire of Sammy Sinnott's famous country pub.

Shell Cottage, Cullenstown.
