Was there ever such a summer with so impressive a selection or art courses boasting the array of talent as in Ireland in 2011?

What a paradox - the wiser I get, the more I realise how little I know.

So if you haven't signed up at one of these courses to improve your artistic skills or to broaden your creativity, there are few excuses.

Several specifically plein air courses are listed on our 'Events' section given by artists such as Fergal Flanagan, Tom King (voted 'People's Choice' winner at last year's Art in the Open), Judy Koon, Bob Lynn and Frank Sanford.

Not all to do with plein air but excellent nevertheless is this varied series of courses at Greenacres in Wexford given throughout the month of July by Gearoid Hayes, Eamon Colman, Mary O'Connor and John Dinan.
