Hi all,
Just a quick message to wish organisers and participants a fun Art in the Open 2012. Unfortunately, I can't make it this year as I'm away. But on the plus side the weather in Indonesia is pretty great!! I hope the festival is even bigger and better than previous years, so paint your socks off guys and hopefully I will make it down to see the exhibition at some stage when I get back!!!

Would love to be in Wexford . Circumstances have conspired against me this time . Happy painting everyone!
We'll miss you Niamh...but not doubt you're having a great time!!! Get in touch when you get back :)
Thanks for the good wishes, Niamh. I'm afraid you lost any sympathy I felt when you said you were in Indonesia. Still, I know the Art in the Open poster-girl has to keep up her tan, so sacrifices must be made, huh?
As for the festival, I'm sure it will be bigger and better. We have some cracking workshops with only a few places left for Grahame Booth (Watercolour) Matt Daub (plein air principles for all media), Tom King (Watercolour) and Greg Moore (pastel). The rest are more-or-less sold out.
The other big improvement in the format is the range of beautiful places we are bringing artists to. That takes a bit of organising, so we are asking everyone who wants to come to book online in advance. If anyone wishing to come has not registered, please do so right away, here.
But of course, the best part, as always, is the artists who are coming. This year there will be artists from at least 10 different countries, so it is truly an international event now. But no-one from Indonesia, Niamh, so you can be our first, in 2013. Look out for the Youtube videos and on the Plein Eire website and I look forward to seeing the paintings from your trip posted here soon.
Have a great time!
