Exhibition Downpatrick, Co. Down
Currently at the Arts Centre in Downpatrick - until the end of the month is an exhibition entitled 'Littoral Zone' this is the intertidal area and as all of the artists showing live on the Ards Penninsula, scenes and impressions of the local shoreline predominate. The group 'Ards Art Collective' comprise of 20+ professional artists; painters, sculpters and ceramisists so the work is an interesting mix.

Congratulations on the group Barbara -Wish it was was a little nearer- love the energy in your work
How about opening up a Group page on this site for Art Alfresco, Barbara?
Its free of course, existing members can avail of it as a way of posting and keeping in touch and new members can join it, too. You can decide when setting up a group page whether it is to be open or screened membership. I recommend 'open' but it is up to the group concerned.
I'm sure you can come up with a little painting - perhaps a table and still-life under the sun to illustrate such a catchy title.
In the coverage of this site,we have a gap in the Belfast area generally - at least in terms of a group. But we do have a number of members from Coleraine to Newry and I am acutely aware they are not catered for. I've even thought of changing the title of our site, in case it might be off-putting - it seemed catchy at the time...but of course we welcome and have members from across the world.
But it remains an issue, or at least an omission and the longer it remains unresolved, the more likely it may become an issue. So I would very much like to see Art Alfresco as the first group to join Plein Eire and cater for artists of the North East and I sincerely hope you will consider this invitation.

I am jealous- I'd love to be going to France. The blue colour is a copper spray also used on the vines. A great fungal inhibitor.The ash from burnt vines makes a great ingredient in glazes for reduction fired pottery-stone ware.It produces a lustrous red.- In oxidizing firing - green

no I have not seen an exhibition inPortlaoise coco.Sorry I never even heard of it so I am of very little help to you but I will keep my ears open! Una
About the Portlaise Council Offices Corridor:
I think it is a tricky exhibition space. It is a fully glazed corrriodor (on both sides to the east and to the west, the roof is solid), it is linking together the old and the new office buildings and the canteen is opening from this also, so it is fairly busy and spacious...
It is tricky because of the lots of glazed surfaces... The light is most probably stronger behind your painting (the natural bright sky) then in the corridor... night time and actually wintertime it could be a better situation when the corridor is lit and outside the sky is not that bright.
I think the space suits contrastful pictures, because of the strange lighting...
and it is ideal for stained glass or translusent or transparent objects...
Where do you live? You could have a look as the corridor is accessible for the public...
