There's this one: Plein Eire West of which John Dinan is organiser. To join the group, you need to contact John via this site.
However, you can also find geographical locations by doing a 'search' in 'Members'. I just checked and found 7 in Mayo, while Galway shows 23 members and Sligo just the one - all with a declared interest in meeting folks to paint outdoors.
I know John Dinan has been very busy this summer giving courses but it shouldn't be difficult just to post your intention to paint at such a place and time - post this as an 'Event'. You can then contact some of those members to see who will join you there. By posting as an event on Plein Eire you allow members the opportunity to RSVP, declaring their intention to come (or otherwise) so you aren't left standing on your own. I'd say you'd have plenty company as it is such a beautiful spot and I think it has been a quiet summer so far for Plein Eire members in the West.
Hi Mary and welcome to Plein Eire.
You are welcome to post your paintings made outdoors but we encourage members to post a photo of themselves rather than an avatar or a painting they've done. It makes the site friendlier and makes everyone more at ease about meeting up to paint. I hope you'll update yours when you get an opportunity and it will help everyone else remember your name!
There is a Duiblin Plein Eire group and also a national festival -Art in the Open- in Wexford at the end off the month.
Enjoy the site.
