I was on my way "home" when I noticed this view from the Vaporetto. I just had to jump off to have a crack at it! The lights reflected off the sheets of rain blowing across the square.

Jeni, the brushstrokes of the primer do seem to show more than usual, I think because of wiping back a lot to get the rain off the panel, but I agree it is a nice effect.

Beautiful - are you in Italy for the winter?

Hello Michael, I love how the brushstrokes of the gesso primer show through the painting. The beams of light seem to shine out of the painting surface, very effective.
